âpihtawikosisâniskwêw (Métis/half breed) multidisciplinary artist Moe Clark is a 2Spiritsinging thunderbird. She fuses together vocal improvisation with multilingual lyricism to create meaning that is rooted in personal legacy, ancestral memory and embodied knowledge. Originally from the prairies in Treaty 7, she’s called tio’tiá:ke (Montreal) home for over a decade. Her work as an artist, educator and activist aims to remember and reconnect belonging to territories of land, body and voice through creative continuums of indigenous language immersion, ceremonial practice and song creation.

Her last solo album “Within” toured across North America and her collaborative song “nitahkôtan” created in nêhiyawêwin (Plains Cree language) won best indigenous language music video at the ImagiNative film festival. Since the start of lockdown Moe has been collaborating with other 2Spirit kin to vision, create and host Web of Virtual Kin, an online series of cyber circles that bring together intergenerational 2Spirit community in ceremony, conversation and creative practice. Apart from performance, Moe facilitates creative workshops with an emphasis on land-based embodiment, weaving emergent voices and cultural reclamation. In 2016 she founded nistamîkwan: a transformational arts organization. Her work has appeared the world over, including the Lincoln Centre (US), UBUD Writers & Readers Festival (ID) and Origins Festival in London (UK).

Chandra Melting Tallow is an interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and music producer of mixed ancestry from the Siksika Nation. Their practice confronts the ghosts of intergenerational trauma and their relationship to the body through the lens of physical disability, utilizing humour and surrealism to subvert oppressive structures of power. They spearhead the solo music project Mourning Coup, and in 2015 they released their debut LP Baby Blue under No Sun Recordings, a cult classic in the Indigenous lexicon of underground music. Their practice encompasses experimental film, textile based installation, and performance, and has been exhibited across North America. They are currently working on a follow up album.
